CCSD Members,
The Queens College Committee for Disabled Students (CDS), the CUNY Coalition for Students with Disabilities (CCSD), the University Student Senate (USS) and a host of others wish to cordially invite you to attend their 19th Anniversary celebration of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on Wednesday, July 15th , 2009 from 11am - 3pm at the Queens College Student Union Building (65-30 Kissena Blvd., Flushing, NY 11367).
There will be a DJ, games, dunk tank, food, frozen mixed beverages, face painting (for children) and more. We expect appearances to be made by: the College President Muyskens, the CUNY Senior Vice Chancellor Jay Hershenson, Vice Chancellor Garrie Moore, University Assistant Dean Chris Rosa, Chairwoman Simone Lamont, some local politicians and other CUNY officials.
The proceeds from this fund-raiser will go towards the Michael Spruill SEEK Scholarship, named for an alum of Queens College who was a SEEK student, President of the SEEK student government, and a staunch advocate for students with disability. This scholarship will be awarded by the Queens College Director of the SEEK program to SEEK students who are registered with the Office of Disability Services and have shown outstanding achievements both in and out of the classroom. CUNY students (with ID) will be charged $3 and Non-students will be charged $5 for food.
