5TH ANNUAL MENTAL HEALTH FILM FESTIVAL

On Saturday April 25th Community Access and the New York Association of
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services will sponsor the Fifth Annual New York
City Mental Health Film Festival at St. Francis College, 182 Remsen Street
Beginning at Noon, last film at 4pm. Tickets are $5 dollars in advance,
$7 at the door. Call Carla at 212-780-1400 Ext 7726 to reserve a seat.

The theme this year is stomping out stigma. We have selected four films.
1. 12:00 pm. Smoke Alarm
2. 12:30 pm. Our feature film "Stop pointing" is a full length film. This film is compromised of 6 people telling their stories on fighting stigma, from our relatives, our potential employers and society at large.
3. 1:00 pm. The "crazy enough to care." This is the true story of a father who battled manic depression for 10 years. He fought the stigma that he was unable to be productive. He started a non profit that travels to psychiatric wards, hospitals and nursing homes to spread love through music and comedy.
4. 1:30 pm. Discussion and Lunch.
5. 4:00 pm. Our last film is "Open Space". Open space is a documentary about 4 people you would not assume to be mental health recipients who find ways to cope with their psychiatric disabilities. The movie ends with a surprise, revealing someone you never would suspect is a mental health recipient.

You have to check out our website.
